Department of Materials Science and Engineering

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position. The appointment will be for one year with the possibility of renewal for successive years, contingent on satisfactory performance.

The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be teaching undergraduate courses in materials science engineering, including laboratory courses. Possibilities also exist for teaching at the graduate level.

We anticipate that the successful candidate will possess an earned Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field. Candidates who are otherwise exceptionally qualified but who do not hold a Ph.D. will also be considered. Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching, laboratory skills, and command of the English language are essential.

The department has a dynamic faculty with active research efforts in a variety of areas. The present student enrollment is approximately seventy undergraduate and fifty graduate students.

Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a tenure-track position. We seek an individual who will develop a successful research program in Financial Mathematics while contributing to the department’s new master’s program in this area. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong interests in scientific computation. Preference will be given to applicants at the assistant professor level, but exceptionally qualified candidates at all ranks will be considered. The successful candidate must have a doctorate in applied mathematics, statistics, mathematics, or financial mathematics.

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, formerly the Department of Mathematical Sciences, currently has thirteen full-time faculty members in the fields of probability, statistics, operations research, optimization, discrete mathematics, and partial differential equations. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University solicits applications for several tenure-track positions. Though targeted at the Assistant Professor level, outstanding candidates will be considered at all ranks. Areas of interest include computer engineering, integrated circuits and microsystems, optoelectronics and photonics, image processing, language and speech processing, and control systems. Candidates whose research interests take advantage of the university’s strengths in interdisciplinary research are particularly desirable. Qualifications include an earned Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering, or a closely related field; outstanding research potential and a strong commitment to teaching.
