The Whiting School of Engineering is committed to providing our nation with a robust supply of future engineering students and professionals who will lead the technological advances of the 21st century.
In order to do this, the school has developed a number of K-12 outreach programs that are designed to engage young students in Baltimore and across the country in engineering and other scientific disciplines and aggressively promote the inclusion of traditionally under-represented groups in engineering.
Undergraduate biomedical engineering students devise a better, less intrusive, and potentially safer way to close a patient’s chest cavity after surgery.
